Four Principles of Wellness

Educating the Community

Children and Chirpractic

Dr. Rich       It has been through my own experiences that make me a leader for FAMILY Wellness and Health and has led me to become a Doctor of Chiropractic or Dr. Rich!

A little about me and how I got here:

As a Graduate of East Lincoln High School, I participated in marching band, cross country and lettered in baseball and basketball. I later received my Bachelor of Science in Education from Western Carolina University. Following graduation, I taught high school and coached JV baseball and basketball in Jacksonville, NC.

Suffering from sciatica, pain from my low back down to my foot, since my freshman year at Western, I became limited in playing sports and other physical activities such as walking or climbing stairs. After going through numerous tests such as an MRI, I was told nothing was wrong and given muscle relaxers. Needless to say, I continued to suffer until I discovered Chiropractic, and once again I was able to stand without assistance or whence in pain, plus I could play basketball and do other activities with my family. This made such a difference in my life that I decided, after four years of teaching, to change careers and become a chiropractor. This way I could help others they I had been helped. I have since devoted myself to absorb as much information possible about health, wellness, and Chiropractic. While attending Palmer College of Chiropractic, founding college of Chiropractic, I was involved with many organizations such as American Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractic Association and Gonstead Club. Receiving the honor to be selected as an intern for the Palmer College Clinic Abroad program, I traveled to Brazil to assist in providing Chiropractic care to underprivileged communities and helping hundreds of families. I also had the fortunate experience to intern for Dr. Breck Bealsey who is one of the leading chiropractors in the United States as well as a co-founder of ChiroSystems, a national consulting firm for new doctors, and a highly requested guest speaker for conferences. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Doctorate in Chiropractic and was inducted as a member to the Pi Tau Delta, an international chiropractic honorary society that recognizes the top fifteen percent of the graduating class.

I currently live in Charlotte with my wife, Lynn. Since returning to the Charlotte-metro area, I have become involved with local organizations and community projects with the aspiration to contribute as much as I can to my community. I spend my free time playing basketball, reading and playing cards.

Me as the Chiropractor:

My practice's focus is on the entire family. I want to work with you and your family to achieve wellness. You may be surprised to learn that most adult problems chiropractors deal with actually have a start in childhood. For example, the "growing pains" of a 14-year-old child can become crippling low back pains as adults, and the "bouncy chairs" used by a toddler can cause spinal curvatures (scoliosis) in the adolescent. The spine is our lifeline, and running through it is the spinal cord containing billions of nerves that send messages and information from the brain to every part of the body and back again. Wellness is not about feeling well; it is how your body will adapt to the stresses of everyday life. If your body can adapt, then you are in fact healthy -Wellness achieved! I strongly believe Chiropractic care is for everyone who wants to experience wellness, but is especially important for children. Conditions easily corrected by Chiropractic care at an early age are often neglected and can be a burden throughout a lifetime. It can make a huge difference in their lives.

With an interest in educating and providing health and wellness to the whole family, I am currently working on Board Certification for Pediatric Chiropractics and the Chiropractic Wellness Certification. I am currently a member of the North Carolina Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractic Association, and the Mooresville-Iredell Chamber of Commerce.

My mission is to help as many people as I can achieve Health and Wellness - especially children. Together, we can reach that lifestyle in which you and your family are healthy and active!
